5 Sometimes it's embarrassing to be English

Sometimes it's embarassing to be English. I overheard this conversation in two parts. The first in Copenhagen airport.....
Englishman speaking to his Danish boss. Nasal intonation....

"So where do you and your good lady wife go for your holidays?".
....."The Maldives, usually."
"Oh, the Med, the Med. Yes we love the Med. Majorca - with a 'j' - that's where we go, every year."

The second part at the baggage carousel in Terminal 2 , Heathrow.
...."You know, these fair islands have not been invaded for a thousand years"..... pause for thought... ...."Not since your good selves, I believe."
